Simon Parkin’s How Video Games Fund Arms Manufacturers is beautiful investigative games journalism and an absolute must read for everyone. There’s no hyperbole in that title, btw. This is a well-documented and beautiful research. (via kierongillen)
This is why I always felt uncomfortable selling games like Call of Duty to kids (and I mean kids, under 13), even with their parent’s permission. Not to mention that courtesy of Arizona’s weapon laws, I sold similar titles to people openly wearing guns and knives on the regular - nine times out of ten they were buying a AAA shooter. The fact that not a single gaming company commented is telling.
